There's this actor Danny Trejo, I love this guy...he is by no means what anyone would consider handsome, but I've never been known for going out with the handsome "type". I love this painting because of its simplicity...nothing I could do would equal the artistry in this mans face, all I could do was hope to frame it adequately.

He was in Heat, From Dusk Till Dawn and tons of other movies. Here's a little bio info on him;

A child drug addict and criminal, Danny Trejo was in and out of jail for 11 years. While serving time in San Quentin, he won the lightweight and welterweight boxing titles. Imprisoned for armed robbery and drug offenses, he successfully completed a 12-step rehabilitation program that changed his life. While speaking at a Cocaine Anonymous meeting in 1985, Trejo met a young man who later called him for support. Trejo went to meet him at what turned out to be the set of Runaway Train (1985). Trejo was immediately offered a role as a convict extra, probably because of his tough tattooed appearance. Also on the set was a screenwriter who did time with Trejo in San Quentin. Remembering Trejo's boxing skills, the screenwriter offered him $350 per day to train the actors for a boxing match. Director Andrei Konchalovsky saw Trejo training Eric Roberts and immediately offered him a featured role as Roberts' opponent in the film. Trejo has subsequently appeared in many other films, usually as a tough criminal or villain.

I would love to see him not be pigeonholed so much, i think he's caable of deeper roled.

I went into this space where everything had to simple....solid canvas and thin circles with small miniscule dots in them....repetition.....I callthis one black for lack of a better name....but i you can suggest a better name I'd love to hear it and if i get a few I might even choose one. :) Same goes for the painting blue....maybe a part one and part two? hmmm

Mixed media, paper and acrylic. I love the wide expanse of emptyness in the middle. I dont think this photo does this picture any justice either, but mostly because of the angle....when I hang them, I am going to take new pics.

This photo really does this painting no justice. Mixed media, paper, acrylic, ink, gold pigment and lace. The gold really stands out, and the lace adds a lot of texture. Each artist has a sampling of their lyrics next to their pic written by hand. Each lyric interestingly enough has morbid overtones to it, as if each person was expecting not to live much longer.

This is my daughter favorite painting of mine.

This was mixed media, paint, paper, and ink, with 14k gold pigments.

It isn't finished, and additionally, it got damaged in the move from Jersey to Ga. One night I tried to remove the canvas from the frame (with a steak knife) so I could flatten it and put it on another frame and I sliced my pointer finger almost to the bone. I cried like a baby, I didnt want to go to the hospital, but Joe made me. The doctor said I did in fact need stitches and she gave me the shots to numb it....I dont know what the deal is, but I think I am allergic to that stuff (if you know anything about allergies to novocain, email me) because everytime I have ever gotten novocain I have had a severe reaction to it. This particular time, I felt naseaus, I threw up, then I felt a hot flush go thru my body and I fainted.

Long story short, she shot me about 7 times with it, and the finger still didn't go numb, she eventually wound up doing a stitch with no novocaine, which hurt like fuckin hell, and then putting a butterfly stitch over the rest.

I was supposed to go back to get the stich taken out, but i fiddled with it over the next week and the stich came out on its own, lol. Then i got a bill in the mail for over 1000 bucks. This country sucks.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite paintings, I hope to fix and finish it soon.

This painting is not finished, i have a few touches left to put on it. It's fashioned after the Bible story of Joseph and his coat of many colors.

It's mixed media; paper, ink and acrylic. and yes, each and every single one of those colors in his coat was done individually, it took me weeks.
